about me
For as far back as I can remember, immersing myself in the creative process has been one of my passions and a source of comfort. Throughout the years, my fascination with the infinite possibilities of creation and love for experimenting with different materials and mediums has, both, led me to take several art courses (in Brazil, where I am originally from/ in Vancouver, home for over 17 years) and influenced my ways to create. Thus, unbound to a specific style or technique I’ve created (and sold) a variety of arts and crafts. Yet, despite its importance in my life I considered my artistic passion a hobby.

Ironically, it wasn’t until attending a course to become a Certified Expressive Arts Therapist (2012- 2014), on a quest to redesign my life and start a new career, that I was able to call myself, an artist. Gaining theoretical understanding of the Expressive Arts, referring to the use of the emotional and intuitive aspects of ourselves in various media, and experiencing the healing and transformational powers of art more deeply, helped me to redefine the meaning of art for myself and to value my/and others unique expression before results.
Furthermore, my artistic passion gained a renewed sense of purpose as it was integrated with my interest for human/self-development, my approachable personality and with another one of my passions, which is working with people (over 30 years of professional interaction in different capacities, including teaching, training, supervising, hiring and managing). So ultimately, after I graduated, instead of starting a new career just as an Expressive Arts Therapist, I can say that I started to follow a calling, which is manifesting in many ways.
Now with art as alchemy for the heart and soul and immersion in the creative process for self-expression preceding results, either, as a Visual Artist, by capturing my honest expression in my art pieces/creations and/or invoking peoples’ feelings and/or imagination, or as an Expressive Arts Therapist, Art Instructor and, mostly recently, as an Author I provide children and adults the means for creative freedom and connection with their imagination in order to facilitate self-expression, insight and transformation through art.
